Tracing the Lost 10 Tribes and preparing for their Return

by Rabbi Avraham Feld

Scholars who have traced the migrating tracks of the Lost Tribes of Israel, claim that they eventually and essentially ended up in Western Europe and from there spread to England , the USA , Canada , South Africa and Australia . Others maintain that they also spread to the East where they integrated with the nations.

Torah and Tanach prophecies are clear and emphatic that the Ten Tribes will "Return" to their ancient Heritage. Jewish Sages throughout the ages have interpreted these Prophecies to indicate a Return, both to Torah observance and to the physical Land of Israel - the Land of their Fathers. This process is referred to as "the Redemption". From authentic Torah sources we learn that they will still be involved in false belief at the time of their Return and in need of proper Torah restoration before the final Redemption

In my work to prepare the Tribe of Judah (the present day Jewish people who, by the way, within themselves hold remnants of all the Tribes) for this Great Return, I stress my belief, according to a host of Biblical and Talmudic statements, that these Lost Tribes will be coming home with all kinds of religious "baggage" . It is not the place of Judah (the Jews) and their Rabbinic leaders, to judge them in this, but to teach them and to reach out to them. The prophet Micah said, that the Tribes will put away their false beliefs and idols after they are back in the Land.  I feel it crucial for Judah to understand, and I wish to point out that, the religion of most of the returning Tribes is not the Christianity that said, "Kiss the sword, or kiss the cross", but a religion in process of returning to Halachic Torah Judaism.

According to the interpretation of our sages, it is not Judah "s job to combat these professing Returnees in their new-old Hebraic rooted religious convictions. They are moving backwards to the earliest understanding of belief in a spirit of Messiah. This is all bound up with their Return to the Jewish people and the Land. (One aspect of the Mandate of Messiah Ben Yosef, namely bringing the Tribes back Home, may embrace various historical movements and utilise religious trends which are today clearly identifiable in masses of self professing Torah restoring non-Jewish individuals in the world).

This trend is even manifested amongst non-religious "strangers" craving for closer identification with Torah and Judaism.

Numerous Jewish orthodox sages have commented on the positive contribution that various forms of Christianity have made and is making to the evolution of human kind towards a perfected world, Messiah, the Bible and One G-d, which also is the Jewish Mandate.   It behoves Judah to understand them and their beliefs, they are not our enemies - they are to be treated like at a Jewish Passover dinner, when estranged, perhaps even very secular relatives appear and should nevertheless be embraced. Likewise, with the up and coming reunion of the Tribes - our job as Judah is, to welcome and embrace them as long lost relatives.

Judah needs to express faith in G-d, the same God who is bringing the Reunion to the forefront of history, to work out for us all the various doctrinal problems that exist. Remember, Judaism is a religion of deed, not creed.

The beliefs and practises of the Tribes will be purified, just as Judah will need to be purified, repent and get up to par.

( Rabbi Avraham Feld is a founder member of the Kol HaTor Vision which labours for establishing peaceful understanding between the House of Judah and what seems to be the grassroots reidentification of the Lost House of the Northern 10 Tribes of Israel.  These two Houses are prophetically destined to reconcile for purposes of the Final Redemption of the 12-Tribed House of Israel ).

Kol ha Tor Mandate

The regathering of an entire nation foretold centuries in advance

Eze 37:15 And the Word of HaShem came to me,

(16) saying, And you, son of man, take one stick to yourself and write on it, For Judah, and for his companions, the sons of Israel. And take another stick and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.

(17) And draw them one to one for yourself, into one stick. And they shall become one in your hand.

(18) And when the sons of your people shall speak to you, saying, Will you not declare to us what these mean to you?

(19) Say to them, So says HaShem: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions. And I will put them with him, with the stick of Judah, and I will make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.

(20) And the sticks shall be in your hand, the ones on which you write before their eyes.

(21) And say to them, So says HaShem: Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations, there where they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and will bring them into their own land.

(22) And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be for a king to all of them. And they shall not be two nations still. And they will not be split into two kingdoms any more.

(23) And they will not still be defiled with their idols, even with their filthy idols, nor with all of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places where they have sinned in them, and I will cleanse them. So they shall be for a people to Me and I will be their G-d.

(24) And My Servant, David, shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments and keep My statutes, and do them.

(25) And they shall dwell on the land that I have given to my servant, to Jacob, there where your fathers dwelt in it. And they shall dwell on it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, forever. And My Servant David shall be a ruler to them forever.

(26) And I will cut a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant it shall be with them, And I will place them and multiply them, and I will put My sanctuary in their midst forever.

(27) And My tabernacle shall be with them, and I will be their G-d, and they shall be My people.

(28) And when My sanctuary shall be in their midst forever, the nations shall know that I, HaShem, sanctify Israel.
